Castelfranco Veneto is a feature of the walled city XII century with a medieval castle in excellent condition. The story of Castelfranco starts with the construction of the castle (in 1195) by the Lords of Treviso, in an attempt to counter the rival Padua. The population of the fortress was favored exemption from taxes (hence the name of the city) and the fortification was covered from the beginning of an important development.
The castle, within which lies the old town, is the undisputed symbol of Castelfaranco with its impressive architecture with the towers.
